A Night with Sublime in Mexico

We had the incredible opportunity to photograph Sublime in Cancun, Mexico, as they headlined the Closer to the Sun 2024 music festival. The band now features Jakob Nowell, son of the late Bradley Nowell, as lead vocalist, alongside original members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh. The show was a powerful tribute to Bradley’s life and legacy, with Jakob honoring his father’s spirit while bringing his own energy to the stage. Sublime played fan favorites like “What I Got,” “Santeria,” “Doin’ Time,” “Wrong Way,” and “Badfish.” With the backdrop of the ocean and the tropical evening breeze, it was truly an unforgettable experience.

LOU DOG

Lou Dog, the Dalmatian belonging to Sublime’s original lead singer, Bradley Nowell, became the band’s unofficial mascot. He was a constant presence—joining them on stage during live shows, appearing on album covers, and even being mentioned in their lyrics. Today, Lou Dog remains an iconic part of Sublime’s legacy and continues to be celebrated by fans.
