Supporting Families of America’s Heroes
Folds of Honor was founded by Lt Col Dan Rooney after a life-changing moment returning from his second tour in Iraq. On that flight, he witnessed the return of Corporal Brock Bucklin, a fallen soldier, and saw the impact of loss on his family—especially Bucklin’s young son. That moment inspired Rooney to ensure families of fallen or disabled service members would have support and opportunity.
Since 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded over 51,000 educational scholarships, totaling more than $240 million, to children and spouses of America’s military. The organization now also supports families of first responders, helping those who serve and protect our communities.
Each scholarship provides more than financial help, it offers a pathway to education, opportunity, and hope. Through nationwide events, partnerships, and community programs, Folds of Honor continues its mission: Honor their sacrifice. Educate their legacy.
