New Year’s Eve Live Nashville’s Big Bash Returns to Bicentennial Park

Nashville’s Music City rang in the new year in a big way as New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash returned to Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, drawing an estimated 205,000 attendees for one of the country’s largest New Year’s Eve celebrations. The event was hosted by comedian Bert Kreischer and country star Hardy, adding star power and energy to the night’s festivities.

Headlining the night were Lainey Wilson, Jason Aldean, and Bailey Zimmerman, delivering high-energy performances as fans packed the park for the free public event. Gospel icon CeCe Winans joined the celebration as a special guest, while the Grammy Award-winning Fisk Jubilee Singers brought a powerful and soulful presence to the evening’s lineup.

Gates opened at 5:30 p.m., with Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell welcoming the crowd shortly before live music began at 7 p.m. As midnight approached, the city’s iconic red music note descended from a 138-foot tower, marking the start of the new year in signature Nashville style.

LAINEY WILSON

Lainey Wilson kicked off her set with a mix of signature hits and fan favorites, instantly igniting the crowd. Performing songs such as “Somewhere Over Laredo,” “Whirlwind,” and “Watermelon Moonshine,” she showcased her emotional depth and storytelling ability. The evening reached a highlight when host Hardy joined Wilson on stage for a duet of their collaboration “Wait in the Truck.” Fans sang along, waved their hands, and moved to the music as Wilson’s blend of country grit and heartfelt ballads set the tone for a memorable performance.

Jason Aldean brought a high-energy performance. Opening with classics like “Dirt Road Anthem” and “Big Green Tractor,” Aldean quickly had the audience singing along and dancing. He transitioned into newer songs like “Whiskey Drink” and “How Far Does a Goodbye Go” from his 30 Number One Hits album, delivering each with intensity and precision. The massive crowd responded with roaring applause and chants, feeding the energy back to Aldean and creating a back-and-forth excitement that made the evening feel electric. His set was a mix of nostalgia and celebration, perfectly timed to lead into the midnight countdown.

CeCe Winans

CeCe Winans delivered a powerful and inspiring gospel set that brought the crowd to their feet. Singing classics and fan favorites, she captivated the audience with her commanding vocals and heartfelt presence. Fans waved along to the music, and the energy in the park grew with every note. Her performance added a soulful and uplifting moment to the evening, leaving a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.

Bailey Zimmerman

Bailey Zimmerman followed with a dynamic set that showcased why he is one of country music’s fastest rising stars. His first number one hit, “Fall in Love,” had the crowd erupting, and songs from his latest album highlighted his range. Midway through, he brought out collaborator Chandler Walters to perform “Fix’n to Break,” a song they co-wrote together, creating a special moment on stage. Zimmerman engaged with fans throughout, encouraging singalongs and keeping the energy high.

In addition to the live audience, the event reached viewers nationwide through a five-hour television broadcast featuring performances throughout the night. The celebration aired live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+, showcasing Nashville’s music scene to audiences across the country.

Nashville’s Big Bash continued its commitment to community engagement and safety through partnerships with local nonprofits and organizations. Initiatives included support for Ronald McDonald House Charities, an alcohol-free Sober Space Hangout for guests in recovery, Safe Bar training for event staff, and on-site assistance from Red Frogs USA, which provided water, phone charging stations, and crowd support throughout the park.
